Matrimandir, meaning “Temple of The Mother”, is the spiritual heart of Auroville, a universal township founded on human unity and inner development. This iconic golden dome structure isn’t just an architectural wonder—it’s a space dedicated to concentration, silence, and self-reflection.

Located amidst lush greenery and twelve symbolic gardens, Matrimandir is not a tourist attraction, but a sacred space for meditation. Visitors are encouraged to enter with mindfulness and respect for its spiritual purpose.
